Enhancing Ramechhap’s status as pocket area of legumes

The challenge

In Ramechhap, the project takes a unique approach to integrate women’s well-being and the district’s prospects in legumes production. Besides uplifting women’s role in legume production and elevating them towards higher nodes of production, the project also focuses on branding and marketing of legumes. It will create and implement strategies that can successfully expand the market for legumes from Ramechhap to a wider scale. In addition to that, digital literacy and adoption of information technology based on human-centered design is also a core component of the project.

Another prominent project intervention is the Farmers Field Schools (FFS) that will expose participating women farmers to various climate-friendly and advanced farming technology and techniques to enhance their productivity.
